Description of Program Features

The Computrip (c) routing program began in 1981 with the collecting of data on the major highways in North America. It has expanded over the years, and now covers over 200 countries in North, Central and South America, Scandinavia, all of Europe, The Middle East, Africa, Asia, Caribbean, Australia and New Zealand. Also included are the Islands in: Canada (Madeleine); South America (Falklands); United States (Catalina Island, CA); Africa (Madagascar, Seychelles); Great Britain (Isle of Man, Shetland Isles, Western Isles, Orkneys ); Europe (Jersey, Guernsey, Sardinia, Corsica, Sicily, Mallorca, Menorca, Ibiza, Crete, Rodes and Cyprus ). The information may be scrolled on the screen, sent direct to your printer, or sent to a file on your hard drive.

There are three types of travel information available:

(1) Routing information to guide you from A to B with coloured mapping.
(2) Instant distance information.
(3) Selecting one of over 1,250 pre-saved North American package tours.

Our Internet version allows you to click on any city or town that is highlighted along the route of your choice. By clicking on that city or border crossing, you will access tourist information databanks. At present, Computrip has over 60,500 locations around the world that you can be routed to. The program is not a point to point urban routing system, but rather we provide a more all encompassing routing and travel program from a tourist's prospective.  The program includes over 20,000 hyper-linked attractions, hospitals and tourist information centres as well as having the ability to close down any highway that is inaccessible for any reason.

The routing program also allows you to get the following information from almost anywhere in the world, weather reports, make hotel reservations, make car rental reservations, locate a local hospital, find skiing conditions for North America and Europe and up-to-date road conditions for every State and Province in North America.

In addition, you may also directly access any of the top 300 airline companies in the world and secure up-to-date tourist information from hundreds of Chambers of Commerce and Tourist Information Offices in North America and around the world. You may also access tourist attraction in all areas of the world.
